General Assembly &
Manufacturing

Driving efficient production via engineered solutions

About Us

General Assembly & Manufacturing Corp. (“GAMC”) was founded in 1977 by Paul Tomaszek and Mike Hamby, both engineers and alumni of Chicago Miniature Lamp. They brought their passion for solving customers’ challenges through an engineering minded approach to product design and production process improvement to GAMC. This solutions-oriented approach has resulted in GAMC serving diverse customers and end markets such as healthcare (including medical and dental devices and products as well as facilities management and monitoring components), military instrumentation, microchip fabrication monitoring equipment, commercial industrial chemical dispersion equipment, energy / power management componentry, wire harnesses, consumer products and much more. Many of our customers have been with us for over 15 years, and several date back to GAMC’s founding in the late 1970s.

In 2023, in an effort to facilitate a pathway to the next chapter of their lives, Mike and Paul transitioned the business to a long-term oriented ownership group led by the principals of Kestrel Capital Group who partnered with an experienced operating executive, Alex Nadtochiy.

We are always seeking new opportunities that leverage our core capabilities of product and process design and improvement, and would welcome the opportunity to explore how we might work together. Please visit our contact page for more information about partnering with GAMC to better serve your customers.
